osteopathy for
Scar tissue

Who is the treatment suitable for?

After surgery, the body heals by creating scar tissue. This is a normal and necessary process. However, sometimes adhesions form around the scar: the connective tissue then attaches to surrounding structures such as muscles, organs, or nerves. This can lead to tension, movement restrictions, or even complaints in a completely different part of the body.

Types of surgeries where scar treatment can be beneficial:
Whether it involves scar tissue after endometriosis, abdominal surgery, cesarean section, hernia repair, or another procedure: it is often valuable to have this area assessed osteopathically. This way, tensions or adhesions that hinder recovery or functioning can be addressed in a timely manner.

How I treat scar tissue

As an osteopath, I work with gentle, manual techniques to restore the mobility of scar tissue and surrounding structures. This improves circulation, lymphatic drainage, and cooperation between different parts of the body. Many people experience greater flexibility, less tension, and sometimes also reduction of complaints they did not directly link to the scar – such as abdominal pain, back problems, or a pulling sensation.

What can you expect
from the treatment?

After treatment, you will often notice that the scar area feels more flexible and that greater freedom of movement develops in the surrounding tissues. Complaints that are indirectly related to the scar – such as abdominal pain, stiffness, or limitations in posture and movement – may also decrease.

don't let scar tissue determine your daily life

Even if you have already tried everything, there is often still progress to be made once the body receives the right stimulus. Scar tissue does not have to remain part of your daily life.
