Many supplementary insurance policies cover (part of) osteopathy. The amount of coverage and the number of treatments that are covered varies per policy. Therefore, consult your health insurer for the exact conditions. More information about coverage can be found on Zorgwijzer

Osteopathy focuses on treating the individual as a whole, while physiotherapy often works more diagnosis-oriented. This means that in osteopathy we don't just look at the location of the pain, but examine the entire body to find out where the real cause lies. Pain is often a result of compensation: another part of the body is not functioning properly, and the complaint arises where the body can no longer cope.

Where physiotherapy mainly works with exercises and training, we treat in osteopathy with our hands. We restore movement and balance in the body through subtle manual techniques.

I am also a physiotherapist myself, so if I see that exercises are needed, I will certainly recommend them. The difference is that I don't guide people in an exercise room or during rehabilitation training – that is really the domain of physiotherapy.

That's why I strongly believe in collaboration, especially with complaints where training and muscle building are important – such as after a new hip, rehabilitation after a fracture, or knee surgery. One or two osteopathic treatments can often significantly improve both recovery and the ability to train.

Yes, osteopathy is fundamentally a safe treatment method, provided it is performed by a well-trained and registered osteopath. I use gentle, manual techniques that are completely tailored to your body and situation.

While osteopathy is naturally gentle, my way of working places even more emphasis on safety. With the treatment methods I use, it is essential that movements take place pain-free and without forcing, because otherwise this can have an adverse effect. Therefore, I avoid techniques that carry unnecessary risks and never force a movement. Pain during treatment can cause a protective reaction, such as increased muscle tension or cramping, which hinders recovery. I therefore always move within the limits that your body itself indicates, making the treatment both safer and more effective.

No referral from a general practitioner or specialist is needed for an appointment with the osteopath. You can therefore make an appointment directly, even for your baby. This means you can be seen quickly, without waiting times for a referral. .
